Can’t you see that beneath this control freak, there is a girl who wants to be controlled, dominated, pushed around, broken and bruised by you?
Can’t you see that beneath this confidence, there is a girl who is so scared of the dark and her mother and failures, so insecure; one who takes offense for the (seemingly) little things, one who doesn’t try new things?
Can’t you see that beneath this composure, there is this girl who wants to be reckless and make decisions that she’ll regret, who doesn’t want to weigh her options, know what is right and wrong, who wants to do all the wrong and forbidden things without caring about consequences?
Can’t you see that beneath this friendliness, there is a girl who judges first, who chooses her friends, who prefers boys over girls, a girl who hates some while others hate her? Someone who is (at times) racist, who hates your ex’s no matter what you say?
Can’t you see that beneath this innocence, there is a girl who breaks all the rules, who knows all the tricks, who seduces, who plays in the gray areas?
Can’t you see that beneath this leader, there is a girl who doesn’t want to make all the decisions, a girl who’d (really) rather follow, who doesn’t want to be the captain of this (sinking) ship.
Can’t you see that beneath this independence, there is a girl who wants you to take care of her, of everything, so she need not worry?
